Fertility
Fertility is the ability of a couple of reproductive age and who have normal and regular sexual intercourse to get pregnant. Under normal conditions, these couples have a 20 to 40 per cent chance of getting pregnant: as a result, 90 per cent of all couples within the age range for reproduction get pregnant during the first year of intercourse without contraceptives.
If no pregnancy occurs after approximately 18 months, it is a good idea to get in touch with a doctor specialising in reproductive medicine. The specialist will perform a prior study and some diagnostic tests on both members of the couple. This will help him discover any possible reasons why they may be infertile/sterile and select the most appropriate assisted reproduction technique for each couple.
